What is a honey cake exactly?

A traditional Eastern-European layered cake made with baked honey layers and a light sour-cream or cream-based filling. It’s tender, not overly sweet, and develops a deep caramel-honey flavour as it rests.

Should you try it if you don’t like honey?

Absolutely! It does not taste like raw honey. Baking transforms the honey into a mellow caramel-toffee profile. Many people who “don’t like honey” are surprised they love this cake.

What allergens does it contain?

Gluten (wheat), eggs, dairy (butter, sour cream, thickened cream). May contain nuts (pistachio).

Please note that traces of nuts may be present in all our cakes, even if nuts are not included in the recipe, as they are made in a kitchen that handles nuts.

Is it halal?

Our honey cake contains no alcohol, gelatine or non-halal ingredients. While our kitchen is not halal-certified, the cake itself is halal-friendly.

Do you take last-minute orders?

A traditional honey cake recipe takes 1–2 days from start to finish. For this reason we recommend booking ahead to ensure availability.
